We're on EARLY ACCESS!!
Yes! Thanks to all the support on the pre-order campaign, the project is progressing and looking good!
In the previous email update, I asked if people would like to turn this project into an early access project until the whole thing is ready, and the reception was amazingly positive.
So, here we have it. An early version of the final product. You can download the attached files, or go to the project page and download them manually.
At the moment I'm in the proofreading phase.
That means: making sure the writing voice, tone, and spelling are correct.
It also means updating some approaches, testing the scripts to make sure they work, formatting, and diagramming the content.
It's a lot of things, but still, not even close to the whole.
After proofreading all the chapters/recipes I'm going to add the gamification elements, header images, add some important content such as the book's intro, conventions(so you know what some jargon means), a "how to use this ebook" section, and finally the outro wrapping everything together.
Currently, more than half the book is already proofread:

Another nice update I want to share is that instead of the initial sample scenes, where I show how each recipe could be used in a concrete game project, I'm split the project files into two distinct projects:

The Platformer Essential Assets is an asset pack that bundles all the raw recipes and it's meant to be used as an...asset pack.
It's designed to be a bundle that you can import into your current or future projects by using the Godot Engine Asset Library -> Import feature.
You can see in this video series how to import each recipe and set it up on a concrete project:
Then, the Platformer Essential Samples is this very project from this YouTube series. It's designed to show you how to wire the recipes together and make them work in an actual project.
It's hands-on a complete game made almost exclusively with my recipes, including some from the Top 7 Godot Recipe ebook.
It will become a standalone playable game afterward to promote the cookbook and what we can do with it.
